I made a diagram of the front of the racks, the back of the racks, and all of the cabling with everything labeled nicely. I figured it would be useful to have that anyways, so I downloaded stencils for all the equipment we were putting in. Then they wanted a Visio of the layout for the racks. After settling all of the power requirements and weight of the equipment, they wanted odd things like the dimensions of each server in the racks.
I've never dealt with more random and useless requirements in my life. We were in the process of renting space in a Level3 colo.
